And Then They Stopped Talking to Me: Making Sense of Middle School by Judith Warner
“In recent years, the United States has had the dubious distinction of being the most unequal of any high-income country in the world, while its middle schoolers have ranked among the world’s most unhappy. In one 2015 study of the United States and peer nations, American were 11-, 13-, and 15-year-olds were third from the top in feeling ‘pressured by schoolwork’ – and third from the bottom in finding their classmates kind and helpful.”
This was a GREAT read for anyone with a tween/early teen at home, or if you’re an educator. Warner is an excellent writer and this is a fascinating topic. Highly recommend!
