Never Enough by Jennifer Breheny Wallace
I’m mixed on this one. The good: Never Enough: When Achievement Culture Becomes Toxic—And What We Can Do About It is a well-researched, easy-to-read book about how important it is to stop focusing on a narrow definition of “success” and celebrate kids for who they are, not their grades/college acceptance/etc.
On the downside, after a few chapters, this got repetitive. I also felt that this spoke primarily to households with the resources of time and money that many people don’t have.
Overall, though, this was interesting and worthwhile read. Curious to hear what other people think!
